This is the month of new phones and it’s normal that fans are eagerly waiting to see what their favourite companies have for them this time around. One such fan base is Huawei’s, which is steadily growing globally thanks to some impressive phones by the chinese Tech Giant.

Case renders for the Huawei P20 have been leaked and it shows the design of the phone as well. Apparently, the lenses will be arranged vertically and in the same position as the iPHone X. Below the camera lenses, there will be an LED flash and next to it is a laser autofocus window. An interesting aspect in the images in the placement of the fingerprint sensor. It looks like, Huawei will place the fingerprint sensor on the fron, housed inside the bottom bezels. Also, one of these cases appears to have no cutout for a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The firmware files for the Huawei P20 got leaked which suggest the phone is running Android 8.1 Oreo with EMUI 8.1.
Huawei P20 will have a Triple Lensed 40MP Camera setup at the back but we have no idea of how it might look like until now.

This isn’t surprising considering the fact that las year’s Huawei P10 and P10 Plus both launched with EMUI 5.1. As a reminder, Google released Android 8.1 Oreo back in December. On the surface, their aren’t that many new features for users to get excited about. However, Android 8.1 Oreo introduced the Neutral Networks API which is a significiant development because it will allow for third-party developers to take advantage of the Kirin 970’s Neural Processing Unit (NPU).

The Huawei P20 is rumored to come in 3 variants and is expected to be unveiled on 27th March at an event in Paris, rather that at Barcelona during Mobile World Congress. We have quite a bit of time until the official unveiling, so there is bound to be more information on the device as the weeks go by.
