Acer Nitro Spin 5 : A convertible Gaming Laptop

Nitro Spin 5 is the 2-in-1 convertible laptop from acer, specialized to do anything like work, play, media consumption everything as it’s a 2-in-1 hybrid laptop, that has got GTX 1050 a powerful entry level gaming card and powered with 8th generation CPU. This is not the expensive laptop but can be the best choose to do multiple task for a common people.

Let’s start the laptops review from its build quality, Nitro spin 5 has quite good built quality above than we could expect. Along with the keyboard deck, the laptop is fully aluminum with brushed finish up top. The chambered edge and the color hinge which is quite stiff makes the laptop to look more attractive. The laptop is 2.2kg in weight.

As Nitro Spin 5 is a 2-in-1 laptop- combination of laptop and a full laptop sized screen tablet. Theoretically, this laptop can be used as a tablet. The laptop sized tablet, feels kind of ridiculous, which is not that much comfortable in holding like an real sized tablet. But can be used in tent mode and presentation mode quite nicely.

Having a short look inside the laptop, you can upgrade the two drives, so there’s a swappable M.2 drive and 2.5 inch bay.  The RAM is soldered on which is unfortunate beacause, otherwise you would be able to upgrade this thing quite a bit. The battery is 50 watt hours  (7.5 hour battery life) and which is quite good in 15 inch laptop.

The keyboard and the trackpad of the laptop is good but not that much very good. Backlighting on the keyboard with a decent layout and the a number pad and the keystroke are to be just okay. The trackpad has got a plastic surface and does have a fingerprint sensor which is the great thing in this laptop and the button mechanism and the gestures work nicely. The laptop does have a full bunch of USB’s and full size SD slot.

It’s a 1000$ device, and the screen brightness is not that much worse and expecting to be a bit more than as it is now. The laptop supports pen as well. There are two speakers and a sub underneath, where you can enjoy the sounds with greater clarity and bass in all four modes, when they are delivered straight towards you.

Performance of the laptop is nice. It;s a four-core CPU device coupled with a GTX 1050. You’re getting pretty good framerates in games. now you can rule the game with processing power and tech features that put you in control of the action. So, you can easily run games, videos, and intensive procssing tasks with Intel^® Core™ processors. The entry level NVIDIA graphics card maximize the performance of the graphics intensive games and videos.

Overall, The Nitro Spin 5 is a great laptop for college, university, or any student looking for a decent gaming laptop that has strong multimedia functionality. The convertible hinge allows this to be use for presentation and as a tablet when needed.This hybrid laptop is not as a hardcore gaming laptop but can be the best option to choose to the maximum people. Overall the graphics, perforamance, sound quality is good but not the very good.
