Dell XPS 13 latest version, comes with new design that is thinner, lighter and most significantly smaller than the previous generation. Which is good part of the laptop is that, now this 13 inch thinner and lighter laptop can be easily carry whenever we travel the world.  Comparing to previous generation Dell XPS this new version is 24 % lighter,  which is very noticeable.

While noticing something change in new Dell XPS 13 is new glass fiber weave in aesthetics . Dell XPS 13 and 15 had this black carbon fiber material. Which looks really good and attractive. New Dell XPS 13 is well finished product as they doesn’t use rubber as a finishing material but the material which feels like plastic but not the actual plastic.

One of the most feedback provided to last generation Dell XPS 13 is in power supply, which is now solved as Dell uses a USB-C port to charge . We could use USB-C in the old one but that includes a barrel plug as like the AC adapter. Similarly all the ports  also comes with USB-C and memory slot is also available. Similarly, the webcam on dell xps 13 is updated and now supports windows hello for the secure logins. The bezels of the new dell XPS 13 is 23 % thinner than the old one.

The screen itself is covered with Gorilla Glass 4. So, at 1080p panel it is bright with decent color accuracy and it does come in a new 4K panel with 100% sRGB.

The performance on this new Dell XPS 13 is good as we expect because it’s 8th generation laptop and comes with 8th generation CPU. The material used to manufacture Dell XPS 13 is Gore Thermal material. Gaming performance is dissatifying,it’s running an Intel UHD 620. While using keyboard and mousepad, Keyboard is similar to the old one, though there is few more advancement in Keyboard. Similarly mouse pad were identical. It feels good. Windows precision, glass surface and it’s a good trackpad.

Lets have a look inside the laptop, it has got a fast drive, PM961, which can be replaceable by users. The wifi-card is built in the board.  But it can run the Intel 8265 so if you want a good Wi-Fi card, I’d sugesst you to go with that one. The battery is 52 watts. It’s smaller than before, as the previous generation has a 60 watt battery. It’s a smaller chasis. The Dell XPS 13 battery can withstand 11 hours of battery life. Speakers, which are mounted on the side, so they are positioned reasonably well.

Overall, this year Dell has really amazed us. There’s is so little to dislike about this thing, that, whenyou look old and new one, you were not able to distinguish it easily. Hoping to see something really updated and visually upgraded laptop this year or next year.
