Amazon Echo second-generation speaker: smaller, cheaper and better

The new version of the Alexa -ready gadget sounds amazing, looks great and improves on the original, meaning nobody can touch its quality for the price. The new Amazon echo is cheaper, smaller and better, but also it is still the best smart speaker?

Amazon’s voice assistant who is known as an Alexa has improved greatly since the Echo’s introduction to the London at the end of the 2017, altered behind. It was able to gained new skill, routine & other smart home control abilities. This device voice recognition and understanding had improved, and it is now a little more conversational, remembering certain topics that you’re talking about the way in this digital world.

But the outside cover of the speaker had not changed. The new Amazon Echo for 2017 is just under 9cm shorter, standing 14.8cm tall and is covered in client’s choice of fabric, wood or metallic finish, standing in stark contrast to the monolithic black or white towering cylinder of the previous generation. It looks  friendly, blending into the fabric-covered surrounds of the home a little easier, but in some way looks a little bit less unique and heart touching.

The attractive and useful LED light ring is still there in the top of this device as a previous device, cycling round when Alexa is listening to you. The volume ring that turned at the top has been replaced with buttons joining the mute and action buttons in the top of it, resemble the look of the smaller Echo Dot.

Whether you find the new Echo more attractive than the old one. We will love this design, although the fabric covered variants will be slightly more difficult to keep clean. At least the grey colour won’t show dust quite as readily.

What does it do?

The LED light ring illuminates to show that Alexa is listening to you.

This new Amazon echo gadget will listens out for a wake word, which is “Alexa” by default setting, and then starts listening to your sound or command, be they questions, smart home or entertainment requests. The new Echo will do everything thing play music via the internet, tell you the weather condition, the latest news or what’s on your calendar, give you clear information about your commute, answer all general knowledge questions, set timer and alarm, control the lights of the home or smart home devices and generally act as a voice-controlled helper.

The new smaller versions of Echo sound better than the previous version. The audio is cleared, and of a higher quality all round – particularly at louder volumes. It has more bass too. The smaller size has not diminished the sound.
