We all might have noticed a small rectangular hole or slot at the side of our laptops. If not, look closely at the side of your laptop and you will see it. The rectangular slot is normally placed beside a USB port or beside the DVD ROM. Many of us have seen it, but many also do not know the function of the slot or even purpose of having it there.

Actually, this rectangular slot has been placed there for security reasons. This slot has been placed to secure your device from being stolen when not in use or unattended.

A laptop lock is used in the rectangular slot. The lock which has a long cable is used to prevent laptop from getting stolen.

With the help of a unique password, the cable is secured to an unmovable object. The cable of the lock goes deep into the laptop through small hole. And it even connects to the metal panel of your laptop. It is almost impossible to break the lock as it connects strongly on the inside of the laptop.

The lock has a T shaped knob. The T shaped knob can turn 90 degree after getting in. The cable of the lock can be secured to an unmovable object. This lock can only be opened by using the unique pass code which you add while locking.
