As per the new auto protocol in India, every two-wheeler must need to transform into the BS6 engine. So, instead of redefining the engine of CB Unicorn into BS6, Honda takes the decision of closing it down. On 2014, Honda introduced CB Unicorn 160 in place of CB Unicorn 150.

Riders review on CB Unicorn 160 is not as expected, so Honda relaunched unicorn 150 with more advanced features in 2016. Till now more than 2 million unicorns 150 were already sold.

Honda already introduces the ABS (Anti-lock braking system) in unicorn 150, so there is no change spotted in unicorn 160. Head of Honda Auto-department, Minoru Kato already announced that all the Honda bikes and scooters are not possible to transform into BS6 engine.

So, with these reasons Honda CB Unicorn will not feature the BS6 engine. Along with the CB unicorn 160, Honda to close down the production of some other brand as well. Recently, Honda launched Activa 125 with BS6 engine. This is the first two-wheeler to have BS6 engine configuration
