Pop-up Restaurant at Mount. Everest

Rice and lentils have been a staple for any trekker in Nepal since decades. It is like a trade for enjoying the most stunning mountain views and an amazing experience.

But now that is a least of the problem at least for 15 lucky people. A pop-up restaurant is going to be set at the base camp of Mount Everest for 2 weeks from 10th of December. The restaurant is being hosted by James Sharman and his One Star House Party group. James Sharman is a Noma trained chef and Noma being the most popular restaurants in Denmark.

15 lucky travelers are going to have one heck of a dining experience as they enjoy the Michelin-level cuisine at the base camp of Mount Everest which is 17,550 feet (5364 m) above the sea level. For Chef James Sharman’s high altitude cooking, Nepali cuisine is going to be a huge inspiration along with the Noma’s unconventional take on Scandinavian cooking which will involve local Himalayan herbs. The diners can expect a huge surprise while they are there.

The surprise also includes paying a heavy some of money for the dinner. The price of the tab is $1,050 per diner and it also includes travel, food and lodging expenses and let us not forget having a meal 17,550 feet above the ground.

Apart from the heavy price tag, the diners will also have to walk to the base camp of the Mount Everest for weeks and reach the tent village. The tent village marks the starting of the climbing route to the highest peak of the world.

The dining adventure will start off in Kathmandu Nepal on 10th of December and the crew will return back on 23rd of December.

James Sharman is planning to host different pop-up restaurant at 20 different countries in 20 months and Nepal being the next. For Nepal, he set his sight up to high to the base camp of the Mount. Everest.
